The chapter was formed in 1982 to promote the proliferation of wild winged birds. Our chapter takes great pride in being involved in many areas of support for the surrounding community.

Following is a list of projects that we have participated in this last year:

* Raised 600 pheasants through the day old chick program and released on DNR designated lands.
* Ongoing predator control within project area and beyond.
* Supply corn, sunflower and sorghum seed for food plots.
* Fully sponsored the 2009 Beaver Dam Lake Days Kids Fishing Contest.
* The Chapter is a founding member of the Dodge County Sporting Conservation Alliance.
* Co-sponsored with the Beaver Dam Conservationists the Youth Trap Shoot for hunter safety graduates.
* One full scholarship to Outdoor Skills Camp

We also helped to underwrite the following:
* Several hunter safety programs with shells, gun locks and financial support.
* Youth duck hunt.
* DNR limited employee support fund.
* Wisconsin Outdoor Education Exposition.

The chapter is continuing to work with landowners to enhance wildlife cover and food plots in our Habitat Restoration Area. This 11,000 acre area was selected in 1995 by the DNR as a release site for wild Iowa pheasants. The release program started in the spring of 1996 and continued through 1998. Crow and flush counts are still being conducted. To date we have attained 29.5 acres of food plots, 87 acres of nesting cover and restored 10 acres back to wetlands. We need to thank all the members, donors and especially the landowners for their cooperation in this ongoing project.

We are members of the Dodge County Sporting Conservation Alliance and the Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association, Inc. We also support the Lost Lake Preservation Association, Inc. and the Columbus Sportsman's Club.
The Beaver Dam Chapter sponsored the 2006 Lake Days fishing event for youths in the area.
This chapter raised 600 pheasants through the day old chick program and relased on DNR designated lands this year.
This chapter releases pheasants annually.
